Quality Control Engineer

About the role

Own the dimensional and metallurgical quality of every drum that leaves our plant. You will build and maintain the measurement systems, SPC program, and corrective action process that keep our reject rate at or below 0.3%.

What you will do

• Perform and supervise incoming material inspection, first-piece sign-off, in-process gauging, and final release checks.
• Maintain statistical process control (SPC) charts for all critical dimensions.
• Issue non-conformance reports (NCRs), lead root cause analysis (5-why, Fishbone), and implement corrective actions.
• Manage calibration schedules for all gauges, CMMs, and measuring instruments.
• Prepare material certifications, dimensional inspection reports, and test data packets for export customers.
• Support FMVSS 121 and SAE standard compliance — coordinate third-party testing as needed.
• Maintain the ISO 9001:2015 QMS: write procedures, update records, prepare for surveillance audits.
• Train production staff on quality standards, GD&T reading, and measurement techniques.

What we are looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgy.
• 3+ years of QC/QA engineering experience in automotive or heavy-duty parts manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with CMM, hardness testing, and roundness measurement equipment.
• Solid understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and SPC methodology.
• Experience maintaining an ISO 9001 QMS.
• Proficiency in Vietnamese; working English to read standards and communicate with overseas customers.

Nice to have

• Experience with brake drums, rotors, or wheels (safety-critical castings).
• Familiarity with FMVSS 121, SAE J695, or equivalent brake drum standards.
• CQE (ASQ Certified Quality Engineer) or equivalent certification.
• Experience preparing technical documentation for US or Australian import customers.
