Introduction
Over July 8–9, we joined Foreign Trade University Youth Union volunteers in Long Coc Commune, Phu Tho Province, Vietnam — part of their Green Summer 2026 campaign. As a sponsor for the project, TBP Auto not only provided food and necessities for the volunteer team but also worked with them in community support activities.
This trip also marked the first activity in a developing partnership between TBP Auto and FTU, built around a shared commitment to local communities and Vietnam's young people.
A Campaign Reaching Communities Across Vietnam
Green Summer is the biggest annual volunteer campaign organized by the Foreign Trade University (FTU) Youth Union. It continues a wider Vietnamese student-volunteer tradition that has operated under the Green Summer name since 1997.
This year, from July 5 to 15, the FTU program mobilized 175 students, with activities in three locations — Phu Tho Province, suburban Hanoi, and Nghe An Province — spanning northern to central Vietnam. Across the campaign, teams addressed local needs through education, environmental work, community facilities, and direct support for residents.
In Long Coc alone, the 11-day program delivered a substantial range of activities: installing village lighting, improving public areas, painting school walls, aiding households and children in difficult circumstances, assisting families with the local tea harvest, and organizing a community cultural exchange.
TBP Auto joined the Long Coc team on July 8–9. Our representatives supported the inauguration of the 'Lighting the Village Roads' project, and worked with students to clear vegetation and tidy roadsides. Sponsored supplies were also handed over to support the volunteers in the remaining days of the campaign.
15 Solar Light Poles Across Three Village Roads
A central result of the Long Coc campaign was the installation of 15 solar-powered light poles across three key village roads. The new lights improve visibility for residents traveling after dark, including students and families moving between homes, schools and shared community facilities.
Solar power provides a renewable source of energy that does not depend on the local electricity network, while creating a piece of infrastructure that will remain useful to the community for years to come.
The completed route was the result of coordinated work by FTU students, local authorities and residents. For our team, seeing the project at its final stage showed how sponsorship, volunteer effort and local participation can combine into a lasting community asset.
When Duty Calls, Youth Answer
Green Summer reflects a long-standing spirit of youth service: young people stepping forward where support is needed and taking responsibility when the work is difficult. In Long Coc, volunteers rotated between teaching, fieldwork, meal preparation and maintaining their shared living space at the school.
TBP Auto's sponsorship provided materials and practical support, while the site visit offered a direct view of how the students turned those resources into results. Their efforts, teamwork and connection with local residents gave the campaign its real value.

The First Step in a Wider Partnership with FTU
Green Summer 2026 marks TBP Auto's first joint activity with Foreign Trade University and the beginning of a broader relationship. Both organizations see value in helping students develop practical skills, confidence and a stronger understanding of the communities around them.
Further activities are already being planned. Through this partnership, we hope to give FTU students more opportunities to serve their communities, connect academic learning with industry, and take the first steps toward their future careers through hands-on exposure to international business and manufacturing at TBP Auto.
For TBP Auto, supporting Vietnam means staying connected to the people and young talent behind the country's development. Our two days in Long Coc were a modest start, but a meaningful one — and there is more to come.
